Hydrocyclone has wide application in metal ore and nonmetal ore processing plants, such as plants of iron ore dressing industry, manganese ore beneficiation industry, coal industry, environmental power, alumina industry and some other mining industries.

Hydrocyclone is a common grading equipment, used centrifugal sedimentation principle. When the two-phase mixture to be separated to a certain pressure from the cyclone tangentially into the inner periphery of the cyclone, resulting in a strong three-dimensional elliptic strong rotational shear turbulence. Due to the difference between the coarse granularity and fine particles which are subjected to centrifugal force, centripetal buoyancy, fluid drag force of different sizes, by centrifugal sedimentation, most coarse particles by cyclone underflow discharge port, and most of the fine particles by overflow discharge tube, so as to achieve the purpose of separation of classification.

The basic principle of hydrocyclone is that the cyclone has a density difference of liquid - liquid, liquid - solid, liquid - gas and other two-phase or multi-phase mixture under the action of centrifugal force for separation. The mixture to a certain pressure tangentially into the cyclone, to produce high-speed rotation of the cylindrical cavity flow field. High density component of the mixture under the effect of swirl flow field while the downward movement of the axial direction, radially outward movement, reaching the cone section is moved downward along the wall, by the end of the discharge orifice, thus forming the outer vortex flow field; the density of small components to the center axis of movement, and the movement has been formed in the vortex at the center of the axis, and then discharged from the overflow port, so that to achieve the purpose of the two-phase separation.
